I-Ching (I-C) - The Book of Change
I-Ching is the ancient philosophy of mathematical projection on daily matters. In ancient times, I-Ching, astrology and palmistry were all listed as parts of healing art.
I-Ching - The Book of Change is an ancient record of the Chinese mathematical projection on daily matters. Presently, people try to use these records as examples in their daily life matters which are still acceptable. However, the actual calculation or application of the I-Ching is always neglected. Some people claim they also use the coin method. Nonetheless, not very many of them understand the relationship between the hexagram, the moon and date, as well as the six clans or the six animals.
- I-Ching, Principles of I-Ching (I-Cp) 30hrs, 2hrs per week, 15 weeks.
Designed for all students as a major, minor, or elective, this course introduces the meaning of I-Ching, the origin of I-Ching, how it is important to daily life and how the hexagram is related to our lives. Upon completino of this course, students are able to explain what I-Ching is, what constitutes the elements of I-Ching, the meaning of the Ba-gua representation and other related basic mathematical usages such as the Time Beating Technique. - I-Ching, Fundamentals of I-Ching (I-Cf 1) 30hrs, 2hrs per week, 15 weeks.
Designed for all students as a major, minor, or elective and is the prerequisite for I-Cfc, I-Ching Formulation and Calculation. This course focuses on the understanding of the ingredients of I-Ching, the lunar calendar, the importance of Heavenly Stem and Earthly Branch, representation of the coins, the setting of a gua, the five elements, the different variables and derivatives of I-Ching, the meaning of Chung-hug, I-Ching symbols and palm mystery of Ba-gua. - I-Ching, Fundamentals of I-Ching (I-Cf 2) 30hrs, 2hrs per week, 15 weeks.
This is a continuation of I-Cf 1, students will learn the representation of the six clans, the six animals, how to count the Longevity, Messenger and Gap. - I-Ching Formulation and Calculation (I-Cfc 1) 30hrs, 2hrs per week, 15 weeks.
This course is based on the ancient Chinese chained-9-pearls Wen Huang I-Ching techniques and is the prerequisite of I-Ca, I-Ching Application. The formulation and calculation requires the understanding of the fundamental constituents of setting up an I-Ching format. In the course, students will also learn the meaning of the different layouts of the results of calculation and how they are related to daily issues such as weather forecast, "roamer" and education. - I-Ching Formulation and Calculation (I-Cfc 2) 30hrs, 2hrs per week, 15 weeks.
This is the continuation of I-Cfc 1. In this course, students will learn different topics including disease, family affairs and pregnancy. - I-Ching Formulation and Calculation (I-Cfc 3) 30hrs, 2hrs per week, 15 weeks.
This is the continuation of I-Cfc 2. Students will learn romance and business investment. - I-Ching Application (I-Ca 1) 30hrs, 2hrs per week, 15 weeks.
This course requires the students to be very familiar with all the implications, variables, symbols and all requirements for the formulation of the I-Ching formats. Students will learn to analyze over 50 different cases. Students must complete this course along with I-Ca 2 for graduation as Master of I-Ching. - I-Ching Application (I-Ca 2) 30hrs, 2hrs per week, 15 weeks.
This course is a continuation of I-Ca 1. This course requires the students to be very familiar with all the implications, variables, symbols and all requirements for the formulation of the I-Ching formats. Students will learn to analyze another 50 different cases. This course must be completed in conjunction with I-Ca 1 for graduatino as Master of I-Ching.
I-Ching (I-C) major students are required to have a minor of either Feng Shui (F-S) or Classical Chinese Herbal Medicine (CCHM) with at least three electives to complete the Master program for I-Ching.
